DAY 1: MENARA AIRPORT – MARRAKECH

Pick up at Marrakech airport according to arrival time with a sign with the name of our agency brotherssideatours and transfer to the riad where you will spend the night. Free time to have a first contact with the red city and especially enjoy the magical night atmosphere of Jemma El Fna square. Night in a riad in the medina near the square.

DAY 2: MARRAKECH – QUARZAZATE – SKOURA – DADES GORGES

Pick up at the riad after breakfast and start the route. Departure from Marrakech via the Col Tichka pass, where we will cross the Atlas Mountains making stops to enjoy the magnificent views that the route offers us. Optional visit to a small cooperative of women who process argan oil, where you can learn how this precious product is obtained, as well as all the variety of culinary and beauty products that the argan fruit provides us.

We will continue on our way to Ouarzazate where we will make a panoramic visit to the Kasbah of Taourirt. Next we will find the town of Skoura, located in the heart of the valley of the palm trees, where you can take a walk through the extensive and labyrinthine oasis, whose lush vegetation covers beautiful secret kasbahs and you can also visit the kasbah of Amerdil. From here we will continue through the Valley of Roses (famous for the cultivation of roses and the production of many cosmetic products made from them) towards the Dades Gorges where we will spend the night. Dinner and night in a hotel in Dades.

DAY 3: DADES GORGES – TODRA GORGES – ERFOUD – MERZOUGA

After breakfast, we will continue along the banks of Boulmane, where a road opens up dotted with kasbahs (fortresses or castles) and ksour (citadels), whose landscape is ochre, red and mauve. Around us we will find rocky plateaus where dromedaries graze.

After a journey full of ksour, oases and palm trees we will arrive at Tineghir (where the spectacular Todra Gorges are located) perched at 1,350 m above sea level and surrounded by a palm grove. Free time to walk through the gorges. We continue towards Erfoud (city of fossils), where we can see the quarries from which they are extracted and learn how they are then worked to give them the most varied shapes and uses. Then we will pass through Rissani and finally we will arrive at Merzouga, in front of the high dunes of Erg Chebbi. Free afternoon to climb the dunes and enjoy a beautiful sunset.

After dinner in a hotel facing the dunes, you can enjoy, if you wish, a Berber show with drums.

DAY 4: MERZOUGA – KHAMLIA – ERG CHEBBI DESERT – RISSANI – ERG CHEBBI DESERT (MERZOUGA)

After breakfast we will visit Khamlia, the village of “the blacks”, so called because its inhabitants are descendants of the ancient slave trade that came from Sudan. They are excellent musicians and have made this art their way of life, with them we will enjoy a small concert of gnawa music. We will return to the 4×4 to travel along one of the tracks used in the “Paris-Dakar Rally”, visiting the Khol mines and the remains of a French and Berber village. We will make a panoramic stop to contemplate the sand desert that comprises the Erg Chebbi as a whole.

We will visit some desert nomads in the process of becoming sedentary, with whom we can drink tea and learn more about their way of life. After passing by the Hassi Labiad garden, we will head to Rissani, the first imperial city, where we will walk through its large African market where nomads and people from nearby villages come to sell their goods and buy the things they need. There you can taste, if you like, the tasty Berber pizza, made with natural ingredients from the market (only found here).

And after lunch we will return to the hotel to rest and prepare to enter the desert. We will leave at the hotel what we do not need and we will get on the dromedaries that will take us through the desert while we are surrounded by the beautiful sunset that offers spectacular colors on the sand. This night will be special, because we will sleep in a tent camp. Here we will enjoy a wonderful dinner, music and a beautiful starry sky. Dinner and accommodation in a tent.

DAY 5: MERZOUGA – DRAA VALLEY – QUARZAZATE

In the morning we will return by camel to the hotel to have breakfast and take a refreshing shower and rest a little. We will use the rest of the day to return to Ouarzazate through the Draa Valley, one of the longest rivers in Morocco. Stops to contemplate the adobe kasbahs and Berber villages that dot the route and the interesting geological formations of the Draa Valley.

Arrival in Ouarzazate, where you can visit the Taourirt kasbah or, if you like cinema, the Hollywood film studios where many films have been shot.

DAY 6: QUARZAZATE – AIT BEN HADDOU – MARRAKECH

After breakfast, we continue our route back to Marrakech, but we will detour first towards the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, where you will have free time to walk around and climb to its summit to contemplate the magnificent views of the Ounila Valley. We will cross the High Atlas Mountains again with their beautiful mountain landscapes.

Arrival in Marrakech and transfer to the riad so that you have free time to rest and continue exploring Marrakech.

DAY 7: MARRAKECH – MARRAKECH

Breakfast and free day to visit the most important places in Marrakech, a city famous for its Jemaa el Fna square, which will take up much of your time: an amalgam of aromas, sounds and sensations that cannot be repeated. The city also has countless places to wander around and enjoy: the Majorelle Gardens, the Menara, the Saadian Tombs, walks through the medina or the mellah (the old Jewish quarter), the route of the ramparts and the modern city (Gueliz) with its Western ways of life. Accommodation in a riad near Jemma el Fna Square so that you can easily move around the medina on foot.

DAY 8: MARRAKECH – AIRPORT

Breakfast and transfer to the airport according to the return flight schedule and end of our services.
