5 DAY MARRAKECH TO DESERT TOUR: FEEL THE DESERT

DAY 1: MARRAKECH – AIT BEN HADDOU – OUARZAZATE:

Pick up at around 8:30 in the morning at the hotel or riad where you are staying in Marrakech. We leave towards the High Atlas crossing the Tizi N’Tichka pass with stops for panoramic views.

Visit to the ARGAN Oil cooperative, where we discover the production process and they will explain the innumerable benefits it has for the human body. Continuation towards the south, turning off onto a 6 km track that will take us to the town of Ait Ben Haddou where we will visit its Kasbah (declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO).

In this spectacular setting, such renowned films as Gladiator or the Jewel of the Nile have been filmed. Lunch in the town and continue towards Ouarzazate. Considered the gateway to the great desert. Dinner and accommodation according to the selected hotel category.

DAY 2: OUARZAZATE – DRAA VALLEY – ALNIF – THE DUNES OF MERZOUGA:

After breakfast we leave for the Draa Valley, where one of the longest rivers in Morocco stands out. Stops to contemplate the charming adobe kasbahs and Berber villages that dot the route and the wonders of the Draa Valley. After lunch in Alnif, a 2-hour route to reach the impressive dunes of Merzouga, where we will have a hospitality tea while we rest a little from the trip.

We leave our suitcases and what we will not use in the desert at the hostel and set off on a caravan of dromedaries for an hour and a half that will take us to the foot of the Great Dune, surrounded by the beautiful desert sunset. Dinner at the camp and night in a tent in the heart of the desert under its spectacular blanket of stars.

DAY 3: MERZOUGA – KHAMLIA – VISIT TO THE NOMADS – MERZOUGA:

We wake up before dawn to watch the sunrise. Return by camel to the hostel. Shower and breakfast. We set off to go around the Erg Chebbi, an expanse of sand desert where the Great Dune of Morocco is located, more than 250 metres high, connecting by track with part of the route followed by the old Paris-Dakar, with the mountains that border Algeria in the background.

Stop at the oasis of Tissardmin and continue to a nomadic settlement where we will learn some secrets of their life and customs. Later stop at a panoramic point where we can contemplate the Erg Chebbi as a whole. Stop in Khamlia, a native village of Mali, where we can relax with tea while enjoying a small concert of gnawa music.

Return to the hostel, lunch and free afternoon to climb the dunes and enjoy a romantic sunset. After dinner, a Berber drum show awaits us. Dinner and accommodation according to the selected hotel category.

DAY 4: MERZOUGA – TODRA GORGES – DADES VALLEY:

We leave for Rissani and Erfoud to visit the fossilized marble factory before continuing towards the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad. We will arrive at one of the highlights of the South: the Todra Gorges. The Todra River has formed a gorge with vertical walls of enormous proportions and great beauty; it is a paradise for climbers and a unique place. Lunch on site and a half-hour walk to see the Gorges in peace.

In the afternoon we continue towards the Dades Valley via Boumalne. Arrival at the Dades Gorges. Dinner and accommodation according to the selected hotel category.

DAY 5: DADES VALLEY – SKOURA – OUARZAZATE – MARRAKECH:

After breakfast we will leave on a road dotted with Kasbahs, all of them different. After several stops we will head towards the route of the Thousand Kasbahs, the Valley of the Roses, the great palm grove of Skoura. Arrival in Ouarzazate, visit to the Kasbah of Taourirt which was the former residence of the Glaoui or Pasha of Marrakech. Lunch on site.

We leave through the Tizi N’Tichka mountain pass with stops to enjoy the spectacular views it offers. Arrival in Marrakech around 5pm. Transfer to the Hotel and end of our services.
