9 DAY TRIP FROM MARRAKECH TO THE DESERT : THE GREAT SOUTH

DAY 1: AIRPORT – MARRAKECH

Pick-up at Marrakech airport according to arrival time with a sign with the name of our agency Venamarruecos and transfer to the hotel. Possibility of making a first contact in the famous Jemaa el Fna square. Accommodation according to the selected hotel category.

DAY 2: MARRAKECH – MARRAKECH

Free day in Marrakech, a city famous for its Jemaa el Fna square, which will occupy much of our time: an amalgam of aromas, sounds and unique sensations. The city also has countless places to wander around and enjoy: the Majorelle Gardens, the Menara, the Saadian Tombs, walks through the medina or the mellah (the old Jewish quarter), the route of the walls, the modern city (Gueliz) with its Western ways of life. DAY 3: MARRAKECH – TELOUET – OUARZAZATE

Departure in the morning towards the High Atlas via the Tizi N Tichka pass at an altitude of 2260 m, passing by the Kasbah of Telouet (visit to the Kasbah of Pacha Glaoui). Lunch on site. Then, following an old caravan track, we reach the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou via the Ounila valley dotted with Berber villages. Continuation along the 4×4 routes of Morocco towards Ouarzazate. Dinner and overnight in a hotel according to the selected hotel category.

DAY 4: OUARZAZATE – SKOURA – VALLEY OF ROSES – DADES-TINGHIR VALLEY

In the morning we will head towards the impressive Todra Gorges. On the way we will visit the renowned Atlas Studio film studio. We will pass through the exotic Oasis of Skoura, see the Kasbah Ameridel and El Keela M´gouna. We will have lunch in the Valley of the Roses. In the afternoon we will go along the road of the thousand kasbahs, only accessible by 4×4, passing through small Berber villages until we reach the Todra Gorges. There we will have dinner and stay in a traditional kasbah-hotel.

DAY 5: TODRA GORGES – ERFOUD – MERZOUGA

We will start the day visiting the Todra Gorges, a narrow gorge with vertical walls of more than 300 meters and located in a valley full of palm trees and Berber villages. Then we will pass through the palm grove of Tinghir. Later we will head towards Erfoud. We will stop in Rissani for lunch (Berber pizza) and to rest a little. We will spend the night in Merzouga where we will go on a camel ride and bivouac in the Erg Chebbi desert. There we will have a typical Berber dinner and you can sleep in a traditional Berber tent made of camel hair (jaima) or under the stars, under the extraordinary desert sky.

DAY 6: MERZOUGA – KHAMLIA – TAOUZ – OUZINA – RAMLIA – MHARCH

We will get up early to see the sunrise from the top of a large dune. After breakfast we will return with the camels. We will take a refreshing shower and leave for the village of Khamlia (village of the Gnaouas who play music in the desert) with a stop for mint tea with the Gnaouas. Then, departure towards Taouz and the rock carvings and descent of Oued Ziz along the Paris-Dakar track and passing through the small villages lost on the desert routes of Ouzina (lunch on site) and Ramlia. After Ramlia, very sandy crossing of the Oued Rheris and track that continues through the mountains towards Mharch. Dinner and night in a hotel according to the selected hotel category.

DAY 7: MHARCH – ZAGORA

After breakfast, departure towards Zagora, along the Paris-Dakar track crossing the desert plateaus; the hamadas and the nomads under their tents. Dinner and night in a hotel according to the selected hotel category.

DAY 8: ZAGORA – DRAA VALLEY – AGDEZ – OASIS FINT – MARRAKECH:

After breakfast, departure towards Ouarzazate crossing the sublime Draa Valley with its parade of palm trees and via the Berber village of Agdz and the Anti Atlas (1660 m altitude). Visit the peaceful and idyllic Fint Oasis and continue on to Marrakech, passing through the Tizi-n-Tichka mountain pass and making stops to admire the landscape and take photos. Overnight in a hotel in Marrakech according to the selected hotel category.

DAY 9: MARRAKECH – AIRPORT:

Transfer to the airport according to flight schedule and departure from Marrakech. End of our services.
